TightVNC installation.

Post by xbmc » Tue Jul 11, 2017 10:56 pm

TightVNC installation process

1) apt-get install tightvncserver -y

2) tightvncserver
If you run tightvncserver after the first installation, you can install the password in the password setup process.

X window installation for Linux.
3) apt-get install mate-core mate-desktop-environment-extra* mate-themes -y

: Modify it to match the installation of package 3..
4) nano ~/.vnc/xstartup
==============================================================================
#!/bin/sh

xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid grey
#x-terminal-emulator -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &
#x-window-manager &
# Fix to make GNOME work
export XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE=1
#/etc/X11/Xsession
/usr/bin/mate-session
==============================================================================
Edit it as above.

Fix the default connection port. If you do not do this, the connection port is changed.
5) nano /usr/bin/vncserver
Modify the monitor resolution information below. I set it to the TV resolution for the demo.
#$geometry = "1024x768";
$geometry= "1920x1080";

Modify the port details below.
#$vncPort = 5900 + $displayNumber;
$vncPort = 5900;

6)netstat -tnlp | grep "5900"

Make sure Xtightvncserver is running and working as shown above. If it does not work
7) Run tightvncserver again

Modify script for autorun at boot time.

8) nano /etc/rc.local
#!/bin/sh -e
#
# rc.local
#
# This script is executed at the end of each multiuser runlevel.
# Make sure that the script will "exit 0" on success or any other
# value on error.
#
# In order to enable or disable this script just change the execution
# bits.
#
# By default this script does nothing.

/etc/init.d/hostname.sh start

tightvncserver #added....

exit 0

tightvncserver #added.this line.

It seems that all preparations have been finished. Boot the box.

You can set the router for external use. 5900 port forwarding to U5PVR ^ ^

Now you can connect from outside.

This is an example of running the TightVNCClient program on a PC. ^ ^
The default port is 5900, so if you put in the address, the authentication window will appear as shown below.

It is the execution screen after connection.
