Money for nothing!
What a selfish attitude, i feel sorry for Manufactures that have to deal with people like this.
Not only do they struggle to describe their problem in common English, or even in a civil manner.
Makes you wonder if they had this much trouble, did they even update the firmware correctly in the first place?

Glad it is resolved for you satman, but boy, you sure carry on instead of just solving the problem.
We have all had a bricked E2 or Android Box before, its nothing to cry over, just fix it.

That's no good. Have to install all addons over again :(
What? A software engineer that doesnt understand what a ROM update does?
Tell me another Android box that remembers the Kodi setting when you update the ROM firmware?

Why don't you just back up all your Kodi addons and settings before you upgrade the firmware
Then when upgrade is complete, launch Kodi and reinstall all you addons.

Wetekplay...
Only if the Kernel is updated then you need to backup and reinstall.
These updates of the U4 could be done without updating the kernel.

Besides, there was nowhere stated that it was a full rom update. I hoped that was the difference between full update and normal update.

Ofcourse I have a backup, but it wouldn't be necessary...
Making backup in Kodi is slow.
It's faster to reinstall it :)

it's not just Kodi, it's also Oscam and other settings that are gone if you do a partial upgrade

thus, Vivant should partition the internal storage:

1) core Android / kernel
2) pre-installed Android applications / APK's
3) eON / Vivant related stuff
4) "user" space / configs

and only "upgrade" 3)

or even better... make "real" eON / TVH APK's that can be installed / uninstalled
